Welcome to our new website!

June 5, 2021

Beloved,

Over the last 15 months we have learned the importance of virtual gathering on platforms such as Zoom, Facebook Live, and YouTube to name a few. All of these have been keeping us connected with each other and the rest of God’s created world. During this time, your website committee has been working with Lucille Fisher of Sage and Savvy Marketing to create a new website for the church. Today I welcome you all home to the First Congregational Church of Rockport’s new website, oldsloop.org. Our new website is a fully integrated digital platform of the church and our church community. It is a living portal into our Open and Affirming intergenerational community of faith.

The website highlights our varied ministries to the community, our intergenerational worship, our wonderful music ministry, and our commitment and focus on intergenerational faith formation. On our Outreach and Social Justice page you can learn more about our commitment to homelessness and housing issues, our connection and work with Family Promise North Shore, our history of support and work with the Open Door, and our weekly community Potluck meals. You can also learn about our commitment as an Open and Affirming congregation working for social justice for our LGBTQ+ siblings and our commitment to Black Lives Matter and racial justice.

The new website is designed to engage and grow our community with built-in media hosting and streaming, events, blogging, online giving, access to past sermons and worship services as well as an online calendar. For the website to be most relevant and useful, we will need many people making suggestions, sharing photos, and contributing content throughout the year. I pray you will check out oldsloop.org when you have a chance and let us know what you think.

On behalf of the Website Committee,

Zach Jylkka (chair), Katie Welch, Dan Bing, Geof Lyon, and Rev. Derek,

Shalom, Rev. Derek
